Circulating Testosterone Screenprint

$100.00

Each week I inject hormones into my body and every month I receive a bottle of hormones in the mail. At the end of that month there is testosterone left in the bottle that is past its shelf life. I mixed these hormones from a full year of my transition into silkscreen ink and screen-printed an edition of 52 prints, corresponding to each week / 52 injections in that year. These 18 x 24 CMYK prints depict a large testosterone bottle made of overlapping dot patterns in 4 colors. Printing using CMYK, one of the oldest ways of printing and distributing in full color, the image is separated into four related versions: cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Each image is made into a silkscreen onto which the right concentration of colored ink is applied. When the four screen are printed onto one page, the colors combine to create a full spectrum. The proceeds from this limited edition support LGBTQ+ organizations in Ohio, Florida, and Texas, actively working to confront the mounting obstacles surrounding access to transgender healthcare in these regions - including but not limited to
